Celebrating WA – fun things to do within 20 minutes of Malaga

If you live in or around the Malaga area, you’ll want to know how many fun things there are to do on the school holidays. 

From cute, cuddly animals to hikes in the hills and a play on the beach, there’s plenty of fun places to visit for the whole family. 

Caversham Wildlife Park

Located just 14 minutes from Malaga and within the Whiteman Park reserve, is the family favourite, Caversham Wildlife Park. You can meet a wombat, get a photo with a koala, feed the kangaroos, watch the Farm Show, see the penguins being fed, and much more! Visit this school holidays 

Swan Valley wineries and breweries

We are so spoilt to have such an excellent array of wineries and breweries in the Swan Valley. Family-friendly venues such as Mandoon Estate and Bailey Brewing offer tasty wine and beer for the parents, as well as menus and playgrounds for the kids. Only 15 minutes from Malaga, it’s an easy and fun, family day out.

Trigg Beach

Even though it’s winter, there are still some lovely sunshine-filled days that can be spent playing on the beach with the kids. If it’s too cold for a dip, there’s still plenty to do; build sandcastles, run away from the waves, beach cricket or a walk. Trigg Beach is an easy 15 minute drive from Malaga and he fresh air will be good for the whole family. 

Walyunga National Park 

Nestled in the Perth Hills, the Walyunga National Park is a great day out for picnics, hikes and canoeing. There is also a small campground if you’d like to stay a night or two. Only 30 minutes from Malaga, it’s an activity-filled day out for the whole family.

Visit the Keller’s Farm shop where you’ll find an array of delicious, fresh food. Once you’ve loaded up on goodness, take the kids for a stroll to see all the animals. Located in Dayton, it’s only 13 minutes from Malaga.
